About the Organization

The Arab and International Organization to Construct in Palestine is considered one of the leading organizations in the field of construction and rebuilding. It is a non-profit civil organization that encompasses commissions and forums as well as civil, engineering, and economic, social, Arab, Islamic and international figures. It also practices a number of special activities that made it prominent in the field of construction.

The  Construction Organization was established in 2008 after the attack on Gaza, in a generous initiative by the Jordanian Engineers Association, with the participation of leaders and representatives from engineering organizations, business associations in various Arab and Islamic countries, and a group of prominent public figures, under the slogan “Hand in Hand to Construct Gaza.”

Given its significant success in its field of work and in response to the ongoing need for reconstruction and building repairs in various Palestinian towns, especially in Jerusalem, the organization decided to expand its activities to cover all of Palestine. Consequently, its name was changed to the Arab and International Organization to Construct in Palestine.

The organization aims to consolidate Arab and international civil efforts, mobilize resources, and coordinate Arab, Islamic, and international engineering, economic, and financial efforts to enhance the living conditions in Palestine with credibility and high professionalism. It supervises reconstruction operations directly or on behalf of others.

The organization is chaired by former Jordanian Prime Minister Mr. Taher Al-Masri, while its Board of Directors is headed by Engineer Zuhair Al-Omari. Its membership includes ministers, parliamentarians, prominent figures, and businesspeople from various participating countries. The organization has offices in several Arab, Islamic, and European countries that work to encourage donors and volunteers to support reconstruction efforts in Palestine, aiming to strengthen the resilience of its people in their land and homeland.

With the support of its partners, the organization has completed more than 78 projects, with a total cost of approximately $70 million. Among its most notable projects are the establishment and equipping of the Children and Maternity Hospital, the Al-Wafah Hospital, the Al-Amal Rain Water Collection and Filtering Pool, several schools, and more than 600 housing units. Currently, the organization is focused on implementing a number of projects, primarily the urgent shelter project for displaced residents of Gaza.
